Tom Wylie has suggested that the CHYPS network may find the report, from the University of Lancaster on the Inspiring Communities programme, of interest.
The "Inspiring Communities Programme" ran in Barrow-in-Furness from April 2010 to March 2011. Its purpose was to contribute to the regeneration of two of the most disadvantaged wards in the town, Central and Hindpool, by providing a range of activities which helped the community to participate in organised events to boost their sense of achievement and their aspirations
The programme produced some very interesting and positive outcomes during its short life with clear resonances of ‘Big Society’ themes, community regeneration and development potential.
The report can be found in the Members Area of the new CHYPS's website: www.chyps.org.uk - you will need to be logged in to view the report
And remember if you are on Facebook you can access the CHYPS page here where lots of the news feeds and tweets will appear. Don’t forget to LIKE the page.
