Lord Wei to speak at CHYPS Convention

We are pleased to announce that Lord Wei, who was the Government adviser on the Big Society in the Cabinet Office from 2010 to 2011, will also be speaking at the CHYPS Convention at Aston University in Birmingham. Lord Wei will be attending the second day of the convention that already includes key note speeches by the Children’ Minister, Tim Loughton, Cllr Les Lawrence and Commander Jones from the association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) Nat Wei is a social entrepreneur, interested in social reform, and a citizen with a keen interest in developing civil society solutions to social problems. Nat was a former advisor with the government on the Big Society, works with the Community Foundation Network to develop local responses to the Big Society, and serves in the House of Lords as the youngest and only active Chinese peer. Nat lives with his family in Shoreditch, East London. He is also the Director of Shoreditch Ventures, an exciting new social reform initiative Convention Update The line up for the Convention includes both Simon Hughes MP – the Deputy Leader of the Liberal Democrats - and Graham Stuart MP – the Chair of the Education Select Committee on Monday 7th November. The Shadow Cabinet reshuffle, however, has seen Andy Burnham move to lead on health, with Stephen Twigg becoming Shadow Education Secretary along with a new team. We are just awaiting confirmation that Stephen will replace Andy Burnham as the opening speaker at the Convention. He will be joining the already strong line up of speakers and contributors at this year’s Convention:
