Youth Services: Per Capita Costs - All Local Authority Budgets 2011/2012

Karen Buck the Member of Parliament for Westminster North, asked the Secretary of State for Education what the per capita expenditure was on provision of activities for young people by each local authority in 2011-12. Tim Loughton, the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Education provided a holding answer on 24 November 2011 which stated “Section 251 financial returns showing outturn spend in 2011-12 will be published in January 2013. The amounts individual local authorities have budgeted to spend on services for young people in 2011-12 may be found in the following table”

A maximum per capita spend of £1229 was the City of London with a minimum of £36 by the London Borough of Redbridge. A significant post code lottery it would appear!
