What We Do

• Support the network of Heads and Senior Managers of IYSS in Local Authorities and advocate on their behalf.
• Work in partnership with the DCSF, NYA, NCN, AYM, NCVYS and other organisations contributing to the IYSS agenda.
• Provide a strategic response to youth work issues regionally and nationally.
• Create opportunities for informed debate about national policy developments that impact on young people.

How do we do this?

• We meet in conference each year to consider issues of national strategic concern affecting youth policy and young people. The developments arising are managed by an Executive Committee which is representative of the nine English Regions.
• We employ a Chief Executive and Professional Assistant who provide support to the Executive Committee.
• Local Authorities reflect their commitment to the aims of the Confederation by contributing annually to the budget.
